Making Spirits Bright at Charlotte Family Housing
Lights…Check. Garland…Check. Candy Canes…Check. Santa hat…Check.
The Frontier team loaded up the wagons and headed over to three local shelters to deck the halls. We hung stockings and lights and filled the rooms with Christmas cheer, hopefully to the delight of even the smallest residents. Charlotte Family Housing’s shelters are currently housing approximately 20 families, including nearly 40 children. Everyone could use a little cheer this time of year, particularly families trying to get back on their feet.
Charlotte Family Housing (CFH) is one of the three organizations Frontier employees support through the Frontier Capital Foundation. CFH supports homeless families by offering temporary shelter, longer-term housing, and comprehensive support services aimed at helping families achieve long-term self-sufficiency.
During our day of decorating, we had a chance to meet a woman - and a mother - who was in the process of moving out of the shelter. It was inspirational to hear about her positive experience with CFH and how the organization gave her the tools to meet her goals and build a foundation for her family.
CFH families are able to stay in their new housing for at least two years upon completing the CFH program. We continue to enjoy partnering with this organization and find it extremely rewarding to be able to make these families smile, especially during the holiday season.
