Frontier is pleased to announce that we have exited our investment in MultiLing, one of the world’s most sophisticated providers of patent translation and support services. MultiLing has been sold to Questel, S.A., a global online intellectual property service provider.

MultiLing combines a proprietary cloud platform, Savanta™, with a global network of more than 1,000 linguists to provide skillful, accurate, and cost-effective patent translations services to a discriminating client base of blue-chip corporations and law firms that cover multiple end markets. MultiLing translators work across more than 200 different language pairings and have translated more than 1.6 billion words for clients. The addition of MultiLing to Questel’s platform will allow the Paris-based company to offer a turnkey solution to clients who wish to file patent applications in multiple countries.

Frontier’s partnership with MultiLing, which began in 2013, included initiatives aimed at enhancing and refining the company’s solution and in sharpening its go-to-market strategy to cement its global leadership in patent translation.

“MultiLing has a long history of innovation and industry best practices, and will continue to deliver a high quality, efficient solution for customers in the next leg of their journey with Questel.” – Michael Ramich, Frontier Partner

“We found in Frontier, not only an investor, but a partner whose insights, advice and leadership had a profound impact on MultiLing, our employees and myself,” MultiLing CEO and founder Michael Sneddon said. “Their experience, commitment to excellence, sense of fairness, and intrinsic integrity were key factors in our successful partnership. It has been a pleasure working with the Frontier team.”
